Between 2021 and the present, Birkenhead Monumental has designed and made two headstones and three secondary memorials for me.

The firm has an extensive catalogue, with designs ranging from the elaborate to the very simple, in a choice of granites, marble and slate. Many are fully compliant with the standard rules laid out in the Chester and Liverpool Diocesan Churchyard Regulations.

On each occasion, it has been a pleasure to work with Jeannie Williams and her staff to get every detail right, from the choice of stone and its dimensions to the colour and style of the lettering. Several proofs are sometimes needed to achieve exactly the right result. Jeannie and her team have always happy to work through these with me.

Prior to the interment of a family member of 2023, the headstone and grave ornament were removed by Birkenhead Monumental, cleaned and the lettering repainted beautifully. The headstone was subsequently replaced on the grave plot along with a secondary memorial. All work was carried out sensitively.

I have been delighted with all five memorials. The quality of the workmanship is excellent. A number of the memorials have attracted compliments from the Friends of Bebington Cemetery.

My sincere thanks to Jeannie and all her team at Birkenhead Monumental. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

At the very back of the trading estate. Well worth the journey across from Liverpool.Boty headstones for mum and dad have been done here by David and his team. They listen and help to ensure your wishes are taken on board to create forever memorials for your loved ones. An added bonus is that they also do kitchens . Highly recommended on quality and best value

I recently had my Mother and Father in Law’s headstone cleaned which had been sadly neglected for some years and was in a poor condition. Birkenhead Monumental carried out a full clean, renovation and resetting on a foundation plinth and the result was far beyond my expectations their work was breathtaking and very emotional. Thank you very much.

Where do I start? David and his team carried out a job on my family' headstone. I thought it was finished in the condition it was in . David assured us it could be done and soon removed it from the cemetery were it was lying flat . The old lettering removed and the stone skimmed and cleaned , lettering redone and then remounted in its original place. Special thanks to Jeannie and Sue for keeping us up to date with work on the headstone. Also thank you to the masons whose skill is incomparable . Our family could not be happier with the service and considering the stone was put in place in 1966 it is now looking like new. Once again I could not be happier and would recommend Birkenhead Monumental to anyone needing work on their loved ones place of rest. Thank you so much. Best Regards Gary and Family .

Recently had my mums name put on her headstone by this company and I am so happy with it! They have done the most beautiful job! There was writing that had previously been put on the stone that also needed altering and I am blown away with how flawless it looks!
It was no fuss or stress at all, I was kept updated throughout it and it was completed quickly too for a great price!
So grateful for all the hard work that has been put into the headstone and I highly recommend this company! Trustworthy, reliable and very clearly take pride in their work as it is completed to such a beautiful standard. Amazing job, thank you!

We are extremely grateful to David Williams and his team at Birkenhead Monumental Company for the beautiful gravestone they created for my cousin. The workmanship was excellent, and the care and attention to detail truly showed.

During a very difficult time, David was kind, understanding, and incredibly supportive throughout the whole process. We are very happy with the final result, which has brought great comfort to our family.

I would highly recommend Birkenhead Monumental Company to anyone looking for quality work and compassionate service.

Birkenhead Monumental supplied a piece of granite for use as a fireplace hearth at my sons house in Hoylake. The service and quality provided was swift and efficient at a fair price. I would recommend to anyone.

I can’t thank Birkenhead Monumental enough, and especially Jeanie, for her help during a very difficult and worrying time for our family. She stepped in when the previous company failed to respond, hadn’t paid the permit, and was holding my late father-in-law’s headstone. Jeanie handled everything with care and professionalism — retrieving the stone, completing all the relevant paperwork, and ensuring it was returned to its rightful place after another family member’s name was engraved. Her support, kindness, and efficiency made a stressful situation so much easier, and we are truly grateful.

Highly recommend this company and going forward I will be telling all my family and friends to only go here!
